Raja is the Founder of one of India’s first independent private equity firms and has spent more than 20 years partnering with exceptional entrepreneurs to create category-defining companies. A passionate believer in bold ideas and long-term success, he has guided numerous ventures from early investment to successful exits across multiple market cycles.

As Managing Partner at Ascent Capital, Raja has served on the boards of several leading companies, including BigBasket, India’s largest online supermarket. His earlier career includes distinguished service in the Indian Civil Services, where he held senior positions such as Commissioner of Income Tax, Regional Director at SEBI, and Executive Director at a Mutual Fund AMC.

Raja holds an M.Sc and M.Phil in Science and is an alumnus of Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program, combining analytical depth with strategic vision to drive sustainable growth.
